Our Team
Founder - Gianna Murrell
Hi there! I'm a second-year Business Administration student concentrating in Information Systems at Cal Poly. My experience as an Associate Consultant with Mustang Consulting, Lead Student Assistant for the Orfalea Development Team, and Vice President of Fundraising for the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi has all provided a meaningful outlet for my professional growth. I’m proud to announce that I will be in Scotland this summer, helping produce an upcoming musical at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as continuing my work developing my passion project, TRENDCYCLE. I founded TRENDCYLE in 2024 with the help of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s Hatchery program. I believe the global issues of today call for thoughtful innovation from the next generation. Visit our Mission page to learn more!

Hey! My name is Caleb, and I’m a second-year Statistics major at Cal Poly SLO. I’m super passionate about sustainability and making it easier for people to shop in a way that’s better for the planet without sacrificing style. Outside of school, I love spending time with family and friends, scuba diving, and traveling. I found TRENDCYCLE through social media and instantly loved the mission and business model—so I’m stoked to be a part of it!
Hi! My name is Lauren and I am a third year Experience Industry Management student at Cal Poly. I am very passionate about fitness and movement, and just getting outside! I came to TRENDCYCLE because I wanted to be a part of something impactful and sustainable to keep our Earth beautiful. To me, sustainability means being mindful of our consumption and valuing choices that provide long-term stability and reduce waste in our environment.

Hi, my name is Maddy! I am a second-year Business Administration and Psychology student at Cal Poly, and I am passionate about serving others and our planet. On campus, I am involved with the Women in Business Association, Net Impact Consulting, and the Club Triathlon Team, and outside of school, I serve as a student ambassador for a mental health advocacy nonprofit. TRENDCYCLE’s mission deeply excites me because I resonate with the company’s intention to operate at the intersection of profitability and environmental and social good. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, trying out new recipes, spending time with friends and family, and being out in nature!
Hi! I’m Lorelai Pena a second-year Business Administration major with a passion for Marketing and Graphic Design. Professionally, I have worked as a freelance graphic designer for my dad’s printing business, HollaPena, and previously ran my own thrift reselling business where I sell clothing both on campus and online, through Cal Poly, Depop, and at local pop-up events. Recently, I have shifted my focus to creating custom merchandise for clubs and organizations at Cal Poly, including TRENDCYCLE.
Hi! My name is Wendy, and I’m a second-year Economics major with a minor in Statistics at Cal Poly. I’m passionate about making fashion more accessible and sustainable, especially in a way that helps college students save money while reducing reliance on fast fashion. Outside of school, I love going on runs, spending time at the beach with friends, and staying active whenever I can. I heard about TRENDCYCLE through a friend and immediately fell in love with the team and the mission. I’m so excited to be a part of it!

Hi, my name is Rio Blue, and I am the creative head for TRENDCYCLE. Outside of my passion for photography, I am totally into everything fitness, from surfing, running, the gym, and everything in between. I’m here because I made Gianna a promise to use my photography skills to support our mission. With that, I’m so excited to see where this company goes. I am from Hawaii, so I care so much about sustainability, and I also understand the struggle of a small college closet. I am thrilled to know TRENDCYCLE will go far!
